Pheromones for pest monitoring
They are usually SEX PHEROMONES, which simulate the emission of the female’s signal for mating and attract the males towards a trap.
They are fundamental in Integrated Pest Control with the objectives of:
- Identifying and/or confirm the presence of the insect.
- Monitoring population levels (follow up of flight curves).
- Assessing the level of infestation.
- Determining the optimal moment for carrying out phytosanitary treatments to avoid unnecessary treatments.
