Control through mating disruption

MATING DISRUPTION technique consists of the releasing the sexual pheromone of the target species into the culture, at an adequate dose and speed, so that the male is unable to orient himself to find the female. This procedure drastically reduces the number of mattings and therefore, the pest population and the damage it causes. 

It is a very effective control method.
